Gas Detection

High concentrations of certain gases can be fatal or explosive.  When the gas detector alarm goes off the building/facility needs to be evacuated and typically ventilated.  TLC controls can turn on intake and exhaust fans along with other plant control processes.  Detection within waste water plants is used to notify the facility of chlorine leaks as chlorine is used in sewage, potable water treatment and, stored at the facility in high pressure tanks. Detection is also used within many other Industries to protect lives, communities and the plants own infrastructure, for example; the Steel & Petrochemical  industries.

Short List of other Gasses detected

There are various Industries that use detection of many different gases.  All of these are known to cause critical results if left alone, above either legal or controlled thresholds .  A few examples of these are:

  • Methane (CH4)
  • Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S)
  • Carbon Monoxide (CO)
  • Petroleum Vapor (Many Variations)
  • Chlorine (CL2)
  • Sulfer Dioxide (SO2)
